One of the newest business in Auckland is up and running already! You will have great views of the harbour in Auckland when you join this fast boat tour.
I was far away at the beach (in Kohimarama) but still managed to take a few pictures:
This shot can give you an idea of how fast it goes! And the one below shows you a 360 degree spin!
You have to go to the Ferry Building if you wish to go for a ride. Prices are:
Adults: NZ$ 65.00
Child: NZ$ 45.00 (14 years or under)
Once you buy your ticketĀ you also get a free entry to the Maritime Museum, which is located only 100 metres from the Ferry Building. You go for an adrenaline rush, then relax at the museum!
Saturday, 18th February and the beaches in Auckland are busy today! It’s been a beautiful day since early in the morning.
Have just bought a new camera! Went to the Domain and despite the fact it was already late I still managed to take a few shots. It will be a while since I get the hang of it, but here it is one of the 20 or 30 shots I took:
As you can see it was getting dark…
I liked the ‘red’ colours behind the trees. No, there was no fire going on. It was just the sun setting.
Here are the properties of this picture if you wish to know:
Camera: Canon EOS 1100D
Shutter Speed: 1/197s
Aperture: f/9.9

The Wellington Homegrown Concert is a big event in town and has now officially sold out.
Labour MP Trevor Mallard is a very well known name in politics in New Zealand and he has purchased 4 tickets to the festival. He decided not to attend it and sold his tickets on Trade Me (online auction site here in NZ). A group of friends (4 students) bought the tickets and went to the MP’s house to collect them.
Mr Mallard made NZ$ 276 profit selling the tickets. And at the time when the transaction was being completed some people were passing by and he was saying (a bit nervous): “That’s NOT what it looks like”. This indicates that he knew that something was not quite right, that something was very wrong indeed!
He said afterwards that he didn’t know that it was possible to sell (on Trade Me) by a fixed price, by the same price he bought the tickets, even though he’s been a member since 2005!
Some people might say that there’s nothing wrong selling stuff on Trade Me to the highest bidder, but here’s when things get interesting: Mr Mallard happens to be the MP sponsoring a bill to make scalping illegal! Amazing how these people can’t control themselves when they see an opportunity to make a few dollars, despite the fact that he makes ‘only’ NZ$ 240,000 a year.
What do think? He did nothing wrong?
A huge waterspout was spoted in Auckland today at about 4pm. At least 1 building was evacuated today and it might have affected small boats in the area. But no one got hurt.
